Hey guys, thought I'd start a dedicated thread for folks to post detailing-related questions. I don't claim to know it all, but I will share with you whatever knowledge I have gained from my experiences over the years. Hopefully, it's worth more than what you paid for it...haha!

Ok, what questions do you have?

I have the Griot's 6" and 3" polishers. Is the Griot's line of polish and wax a quality product to use? If not, what line do you recommend/prefer?

Hey Nick! Griot's Garage just came out with a new line of compounds and polishes called "BOSS" which stands for Best of Show System. Along with the liquids, they came out with a new long-stroke polisher as well as pads for the polisher. It a whole system approach to paint correction. Here's a link to it on their website: http://www.griotsgarage.com/category/car+care/best+of+show+s...

I've done a little bit of testing with the compounds and polishes and they work very well. No dusting, long work time, good correction with the heavier cutting liquids. My only complaint is that the "wipe off" could be easier. But, overall they seem like really good products.

GG's older line of polishes weren't very good, so don't bother with them. Stick with the BOSS system if want to stay with Griot's.

Also, you might try their new BOSS pads on your 6" GG DA buffer. Jeff Brown of GG said they allow their 6" DA to work even better.

Be sure to sign-up for Griot's newsletter and they'll send you discount codes. They also have a Distribution Center in Plainfield, IN. If you're close by, you can order over the phone and then pick-up your products there so you don't have to pay shipping charges.

Or check out DetailedImage.com or AutoGeek.net for the same thing (newsletter sign-up = discount codes). I'm partial to DetailedImage.com, personally. They ship out of NY so products are at my doorstep in 2 days.

Let me know if this helps or if you have more specific questions about their line-up of compounding/polishing liquids.

EDIT: Here's a couple reviews of the system by Chad Raskovich, a highly-talented and highly-respected detailer in MN. Check them out here: http://www.detailedimage.com/Ask-a-Pro/author/chad-raskovich...
