whats the market for F40s these days??

back when I was looking at Diablos they were 330k-380k for the most part then skyrocketed for a few years into the 500k-600k range, but we all know you can ask what ever you want, what you get is another story.
I know they have fallen some as of about 6 months ago, but where are they now?

With my good credit score and decent income theres still room for toys by leasing the CGT

Symbolic tried to get me into a lease on a Koenigsegg
I turned it down

since I want one with "high" miles( like 15k+ on a 20 year old car lol) I would be on the lower end

Dan, if you're interested in one, I can inquire about a local F40. The owner has been dumping most of his collection... He's down to a MercMcLaren SLR, new Maserati and a Bentley I know of for sure, think he might still have his F40.

I'd go for the Kon. But the f40 is ok, I also think it's faster than the diablo. How's it coming with the Porsche CGT? I've been doing some research and I have to say I've fallen in love with it. Nice choice man, I hope it works out for you.

Of all the cars you ponder, the F40 is the top of my list.

The June 09 issue of FORZA, shows this on market values:
2005 300-374
2006 325-395
2007 350-450
2008 400-650
Current 350-500

I think Canepa motorsports advertised one recently, and the Ferrarimarketletter.com often list cars not on the market anywhere else.

Konatown's lead sounds interesting!

here my list
1. McLaren F1....maybe in 15 years IF IF IF I sell ALL my cars, empty my savings, sell my home, and get good financing. Now as crazy as that sounds, to own by far the greatest car ever made would be worth it. Also I could sell it for what I bought it for down the line and get it all back, but what do you drive after having the best car by far??
2. Zonda S 7.3, MAYBE in 5-7 years, will have to sell home to get
3. LP640, cant find a 6 speed for the life of me, or other options I want
4. Rolls Royce Phantom, cant find a white one with theature seating, let alone priced where I want it
5. Ferrari F40, MUST have "high" miles. I dont want a 20 year old car with 2k miles, hell even a high one with 15k is too low, but there just arent any 25k+ cars out there at all.

so the F40 is the only "real" option at this piont, woh is me

koenigsegesgegegeggg's aren't ugly! I love em, but I still have to say out of any car made, with the exception of the F1, I'd go for an f40/f50

Dan, call FML and give Carol cc# for an on line subscript.
Tons of info, price indexes, history of all cars via vin.
Good publication even for non owners.

Got some bad news.

The F40 only has 1,100 miles on it. And it sold for $600,000.

Dan, if you're still serious though check out http://www.buxtonmotorsports.com/locating.php

He'll find you anything you want.

How just 3400 miles? Speculators baby. Bought and warehoused during the heydays. Some guy probably lost a million buck on this one.

I have some buyer's guides on things to watch on these. Price to fix turbo seals, etc...if you are interested. Like all models, there are some nuances. Like on 288 GTO the gearbox magnesium is porus and can leak. Also, when a dealer got a new one in, they knew it would only be there for a day or two, so there are stories that some got the piss ran out of them before delivery.

most F40s seem to be under 7000 miles

I want high miles cause of money and so all the problems should have been worked out and it got plenty of exercise over the years, and money lol

#24 Sep 28, 2009, 4:56 pm Hide

the CLK I dont think it street leagal, the GT1 they only made like 25 of and I think a 1 million ++ and the XJ220 is fast in a straight line and thats it, utter shit in the turns.....like the Egg
and costs like 500k or so
