Bill can you share a brief history (with pictures) on all the Camaros you've owned?

Man Webby, a Viper could breath thru those exhaust pipes! Are you sure it's a 6 cyl?

First Camaro exposure. Dad worked for a GM subsidiary and bought a one year old exec company car. So in 68 he got this 67 SS/RS for Mom. It had all avail options. Air cond convertible with cruise control, fold down rear seat, luggage rack, bumper guards, disc brakes, all kinds of rare stuff. Would be worth $100k today. They sold it in 1974 for $1000 and the guy totalled it before the title was transferred.

I helped do a valve job on this car and was kind of my first exposure to turning wrenches.

This is Mom and my Brother in it. Note Dad's cool 66 Toronado in the background. Jay Leno would be proud.

you have a bad habit of selling car low, then they sky rocket in value

The previous owner just welded those on. It's a pretty crappy job, they're really uneven as you see here
No performance mod, they just add noise Which I'm fine with

You can fix that pretty easy with PhotoShop.

Here is a 68 SS/RS convertible I had a couple years ago while in Michigan. It was super loaded up also. In 68 they made very few with cruise, less than the prior year for some reason, so this was 1 of 327 so equipped.

Engine was a 295 hp 350 with console shift automatic.

I sold it on ebay to Arizona. Car was originally Rallye Green with white stripes. I hope the restoration has put it back that way. I tracked down the original lady owner who was thrilled to hear the car was still doing well and loved to talk about it. Her kids were in hs when she had the car in 68-9 and they used it in the homecomming parades for the girls.

My first Camaro Webby. A 1967 in 1975, before I got my license. It cost $250.
By now Dad's 66 Olds was fading and getting some rust.

I rebuilt the 327, the powerglide, the brakes, shocks, etc... AND painted it black, all before I was 16 and one month and one day. (Yes, I was looking forward to a drivers license)

The first night out in it solo, a 68 Chevelle challenged me at a stop light just north of Manual HS on the near south side of Indy. I revved it up in neutral to answer the call. Then I thought better about racing him. When the green came on he floored it and I just motored away nice and easy. All of a sudden lights were flashing all over the place and the cop who was behind me sped around and nailed the guy. I never knew he was back there due to the frosty cold rear window.
My life has been one big charm like that ever since

Same car, black paint with engine out. Sorry about the quality of my photos. I probably snuck this on my sister's Brownie camera.

Next one, hiding behind Dad's old school 71 4-speed small block Vette. Cira1978 (Mom did not like that car because she always burned her legs on the sidepipes)
Camaro was a 67 with 331" small block and Muncie 4 speed, and 12 bolt rear with 4.56:1 gears. Fast, Fast, Fast. Dad's new Cosworth twin cam Vega is behind the Camaro. (My Brother bought the Cosworth from Dad in the 80's and still has it, with 20K miles on it)

Yes. Well, IRP

Raced it there mostly, plus Edgewater in Cincy, Muncie and Bean Blossom.

Also prowled the streets around Steak and Shake/ TeePee and at Dog and Suds in Greenwood, now The Suds. Made a few bucks at midnight with this one.

Ok, first, no laughing at the punk kid who needs a hair cut. (Hard to afford clothes and personal hygine when feeding a race car) Only showing this one to my closest friends here.

How about two 1150 CFM Holley Dominators atop a tunnel ram?
I alternated between this and a single 4 bbl with nitrous set up.

Here is another car, 67 R/S with 396 big block. This car could ruin a set of tires in one burnout.

Thanks! I don't think it'll ever make an appearance at a drive though Gas is too expensive for me, I don't trust my driving skills enough, and it's so rough I'm afraid it will fall apart as I'm driving it

Today's new chapter in "This Old Camaro"

69 Fake Z28. 350 4 speed. Mild build, good driver/cruiser.

(other car is a 70 LT-1 Corvette Convertible. It ran mid 12's on street tires thru mufflers. Compression was so high the starter could barely turn it over )

68 base Camaro, 350, automatic. Car was sitting out like this pic when some guy in a pickup slammed on his brakes, backed up and asked if I wanted to sell it. He had enough cash in his pocket to seal the deal. That was an interesting visit!

This car was pink when I bought it, from sun fade. 8 hrs later with a buffer and elbow grease it came back to life and looked pretty darn good. The seller was convinced it needed a paint job.

67 R/S with gold Deluxe interior. Small Block. Another real fun driver that was pretty quick with a mild built engine.
