Just heard from my Father. He called from the dealership in Az. Just finished the paperwork on a 2008 Atomic Orange Z06. Will keep it out there for a month then bring it home. Just what every 73 year old kid needs! I guess it was on his bucket list.

Congrats Bill, on your Dad's new ride! I'm beginning to feeling like the only one here without 500 hp!

Dan, it's the left one; and don't dispair, if you swapped out your "tired old V12", I'd be the first in line to take it off your hands and figure out a way to cram it in my NSX!

Beautiful looking car. I'm sure when he winds out 6th gear in that firey Vette, it'll look like a meteor blurring by.

Those are some cool cars. Talk him into a set of longtubes to liven that car up.

That will certainly cause the car to live up to it's assumed nickname!

Good thought;;;; and cool car;;;;; the c6z06 top speed is achieved in 5ht gear, 6th is overdrive and the reason it avoids the gas guzzler tax......
6000 rpm in 5th is 202 mph on the test track in Michigan. And yes yellow is their favorite food... You guys on the fourm are very cool.. looking forward to meeting more of you...Jim

Thats a sick vette I would love to ride in one. Do you have any mods? I cant belive how fast these cars are, they are keeping up with 600rwhp kb cobras and kb GT500's as well.

Yes I would be happy to take you for a ride. You are correct about the vetts taking on and beating some cars with more HP. The reason is the 400 foot lbs of torque. Combined with the traction control and the brakes…If you make 500 hp for 1000 rpm you can’t touch the vetts who make if for a very wide range rpm. The old saying “there is no substitute for cubic inches” is very true…..427 CI is the standard….It’s pulling power that is the king. Had the big dog out today and warmed up the race car too... Good for the soul...Oh yea red things are for dessert….]

Jeez it looks so innocent there. Like you can see Shane sneaking up (horror-flick style) with a wrench and an engine hoist...
