I've brought a few cars in from out of state but for some reason this is confusing me now. When I bought my first Elise it was new and as such I didn't pay any Florida (bought in Clearwater) sales tax on it but I did pay Kentucky sales tax during the registration process once I got it home. I didn't quite understand the reasoning on that but everyone in Kentucky and the dealer in Florida agreed that it was correct. What if I buy a used Elise from NJ? What would the registration fee be on that since taxes have already been paid on it in one state? My thought is that I'd just owe regular old registration (like $40-50 because of my personal plate) and wouldn't owe any taxes until 2009.

Does that sound right?

ps, the Elise was totaled

once I'm done with school, I'd LOVE to own one as a dd again.

Nice! I saw a cool white SVX with black roof a few days before the birthday run, looked really good. Thats one of those odd cars I've always wanted to own for a while.

Some of my notables...

G60 Rabbit drag car

2.1 16V Scirocco

2.0L crossflow Cabby

G60 Rabbit daily driver

G60 Corrado with head work & increased boost

Subaru Legacy 2.5GT Limited (didn't care for this one but it was kinda quick & comfy)

Yeah, I've got a thing for older Volkswagens. Rabbits & Cabbys are just soooo much fun to drive once you swap the motor out for something with a bit more power. The Elise reminds me of my old Rabbits, right in between the black daily driver and the drag car. Crazy but true.

EVERY meet I have seen in Japan has been out of control ballers. Nobody keeps their car remotely stock.

Thats what got me. I've always noticed that with Hondas, Nissans, Toyotas, etc.. but had never realized that Ferraris & other exotics where the same way. I figured the tuned versions you see were the exceptions, not the majority. Thats badass!

This right here is why the F50 is 2x better than the F40, sound.

F40 vs. F50

GREAT video! I love how you hear the F50 long before you see it.

And the first post has officially made me start planning a Japan vacation...

VERY nice! I got to see a Verde Ithaca Murcielago at Lotus of Atlanta two years ago and have really really really (that much!) wanted one ever since. Not a fan of the Murcielago roadster but I'll let it slide on account of the great taste in color

It's close to, but still a world different from, my Krypton Green Elise...

I will definitely have a VI Murcielago ONE day.

They're just up the road (north/west on 33) from MAG - probably the next exit. They're right off the freeway, so you'll see the building right before the exit.

Awesome, I'll definitely check them out later this year when I'm up there again.

Looks like it was fun! I was excited to see the verde ithaca Gallardo towards the front of the line, I was beginning to think I was the only person with bad taste

I've been to MAG twice (Lotus service) but I haven't made it over to the Lamborghini dealer yet, is it near Dublin? I'd love to pop over for a bit the next time we take the car up for service.
