I've had previous engine machine work done from there at Schmitt Automotive and it's been shitty results. They do good work as far as balancing parts goes. But they fucked up a cylinder head for me and basically lied about being able to install bigger seats for me. I used to recommend they but no longer. I now use Richard's Cylinder Head Service for all my engine machine work. They punched out a block for me and serviced a cylinder head last year for me and are currently doing some machine work for me right now on a high compression head for me. Highly recommend them and reasonable prices also!

Well another option would be an underground tunnel. I heard of one guy having one connection his garage to his home.

It's gonna get a lot more expensive when you start burning up pistons and needing a rebuild on that engine. NOS is cheating IMO. If you can't tune and build an engine to make power, what's the sense of cheating and using NOS? Headers are a decent start but have you done anything to the rest of the exhaust? Big bore throttle bodies are alright also but they have their limitations and really only deliver a quicker throttle respose, your still going to be limited to the intake runner sizes. Figure out where you want the engine to perform and build accordingly. Me? I've built mine for all midrange and topend. I've done this with gearing, compression, cams, intakes and headers/exhaust systems. My other question to you is what are you driving that you are wanting to do this to, since I'm new to this forum and don't know what many out there have.

Well I toted my head off today to the machine shoppe to have bigger valve seats and stainless valves ordered up for a high compression head that I have. From there I will be porting out my intake ports, matching them and then doing some bowl work just basic blending and such. I have a race intake from Japan that I have to match to the head and I got a couple months back a old race camshaft from back in the 70's. I can't wait to see how all this works out! Will keep ya'll posted.

I wouldn't think that bike carbs can't be that hard. I've pretty much mastered SU carbs and I don'd believe motorcycle carbs are much different. What is the bike doing if I might ask?

Ahhh, but does he know carbs? I just bought a set of jets for my Z hoping this is going to cure my leaning out problem at high RPM's.
