In an effort to make our old cars more reliable, I installed a Petronix Ignitor in the MGB. I have been of the thought that as long as I have point sets triggering the spark, I can always tinker with it and nurse it home should there be a problem. With electronic ingition, if it goes out, all you can do is start walking.

Well, I have left the stone age, and put an electonic module in the MGB. Corvette next then 308. This was the easiest thing to do and now with no moving parts or dwell to set I think this will be a problem free upgrade.

Install Ignitor module. It fits right on the stud and screw hole that secured the points. No modifications needed, took 30 seconds.

Position the magnetic pickup to the shaft, feeling for the index to get it aligned for rotation, the with a socket, push it securely in place.

Reinstall stock rotor and cap, hook up 2 wires to the coil per the wiring diagram with the kit, turn key and check timing.

The whole thing takes 15 minutes. Purrs like a kitten. Happy camper.

Now that was easy! I bet you could have cut your install time to 5 minutes if you hadn't stopped to take pics. LOL!
