Pulley, ported TB and oil pump, etc. - just misc. small stuff. My stock vette was 48K and the GT-R is 70+K so its not really a straight comparison. The GT-R vs. a Z06 is about the same. I have slightly better numbers than a Z for about 15K less. The GT-R will be a helluva car, but it isn't the world beater that it's being touted as. As I mentioned before, it will be interesting to see some track numbers on it with real world drivers behind the wheel.

here we go again

I have had to reread this post several times. You said you "have slightly better numbers than a Z for about 15K less". Then it finally dawned on me, you called the Z06 a Z. That really confused me since Z cars are Datsun/Nissan. My mind kept trying to make it be a Z when you were talking Vette. At $15k less than a Z, that'd put a Vette at $15k and we know that's not happening. How dare you try to make me do math in my head. LOL! I'm all back up to speed again.

Nope. It was mentioned earlier that a stock GT-R should be compared to a stock Vette. I'm just pointing out that it would be a more fair comparison if it was a Z06 vs. GT-R instead.

Vette - 400HP - $45 - $50K
GT-R - 480/507HP - $71K
Z06 - 505HP - $75K

That's it. As you can see, the Z06 and GT-R are very similar in price, power, and performance, while a stock (base) vette is significantly less in all categories.

Toss in the 2010 370Z at 350HP - $35-37k. Still have money left for mods to get it up higher than the Vette for still less money.

Don't forget the $500 Yugo. Lot's of spare mod money there.

With that, I will bow out of this thread.
