Well, got the boost issue fixed. It was a torn up hose that went into the i/c and turbo...
Too bad that on the way home from work today, my speedometer failed. Took out the plug, it was snapped in half. So I have to get that replaced. Also, I think it might be related since it started doing it after the speedometer failed, but I can't rev over 5k rpms, it does some kind of fuel cutoff like I'm hitting the rev limiter.
I just can't win.
Dang Casey I think you have some bad luck with cars!
I know on the S2000 if the speedo is messed up (I installed a pulse modifier for a wheel size change and did it wrong the first time) it causes problems for the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) and the car would not VTEC and hit a fuel cut at about 5200 rpm. I guess this is a "safe mode" that the ECU goes into if it thinks there is something wrong.
Apparently the wiring diagram in the Helms manual was a little off and when I tried to drive the car for the first time, the speedo read 0 and the gas gauge went up and down with the speed of the car.
I have no idea if this would be the same on the WRX, but it may be something to check. Do you have a check engine light or anyhting?
