real fast, long story shor,t a guy PMed on another site interested in my Diablo. I offered it for 177k. Hes also interested in a similar miliage black one for 160k
Now, of coarse Im not going to lower it that much, especially if everything was equal yellow and orange carry atleast a 10k premium AND my car has the 10k wing option too, the black one doesnt. NOW, I also dont have the 15k survice done ($5k) tranny bearing work needed ($2k), new tires ($2k), and probualy $1-2k worth of other lil stuff. Plus Im sure Ill be needing a new clutch around 20k miles and Im at 16,500 and thats another $6-8k. So seeing as Im going to be out of alotta money shortly how low should I go on another offer to him to avoid all this future costs and whatever else may pop up. Or should I just not sell it?? If the economy keeps falling and the 6.0 values drop any more I figure Ill just say "fuck it, Ill keep it till I die" and forgo an LP640 and just add a CGT and eventually a Zonda.

I dont want to sell the Diablo, but I know I got some expences coming up, and since its Italian, Im sure plenty of unforseen ones, but with LP640 and CGT prices falling so fast this may be the chance of a lifetime to pounce on one soon, but I would have to sell toys to come up with the money to get one next year.

Honestly, SELL IT!

The Diablo is a SICK car, and something you definitely do not see that often, but it is feeding from your wallet.

Sell it, and buy something with a warranty.

thanks kindly ol wise master

how bout 170k??
all things being equal the 160k black one vs mine at 170k which includes the 10k wing and 10k premium for yellow seems fair seeing as service is needed.
I guess at this price it not only saves me 10k in work or so, but puts 170k in my pocket.

it would suck to let it go for so little, but it being winter, bad economy, and a soon to be money pit I think this would be the smartest thing to do
well second smartest, I could always take the money from the sale and money I have saved and pay off my house
or buy a CGT

ok I sent him an email offering 172, so we can haggle down to 170
even through in the offer of leaving the sale price blank on the title so he could put in a lower price to save on sales tax and asked that if he buys it and the time comes to sell that I be given the first chance to buy it back which I would indeed like.

If I could get 170k for this and 40k for the NSX Ild be ready to buy a CGT. Ild just have to find the right one and start trying to find when the market will bottom out. It would suck to get a good one at say 275k in todays terms only to find if I waited I could have gotten it a few months later for 225k or so.

170k seems a little low to me but I don't know the market

I have to disagree with Larry

I know that
(My wisdom * 10,000) < (Larry's wisdom)
but
I think with a car like yours... limited production, your color combo, and wing, I really don't think you would ever have a hard time finding a buyer. Even if you raised the price by 10k or so.

thats kinda what I figured too. I figured it was a 180-185k car. Miles will hurt it. But if you check around Roy Cats has been trying to peddle his crap 6.0s for awhile and his prices keep dropping. Until people buy them hes bringing down the market. On top of that Ild have to put money into the car soon, so even at 180k Ild pretty much be back at where I am now, only Ild have to deal with the BS of selling it. He basicly fell right into my lap, kinda like this car did for me. Easy buy, easy sell would be nice
Throw in my desire for LP640 and CGT and the way the prices have sunk it would be smart to move on them soon rather than wait too long for them to rise again. And I can hopefully always buy the car back in the future

Couple of things I always think about is "Can I replace the car for what I am selling it for?" or when buying "Can I sell it for what I am paying for it?"

What do you really want more: Diablo or LP640 or CGT?

Do you care about adding to our car collection (e.g. TD) or are you OK with replacing what you have with something else?

i would rather have a small collection of 2 or maybe 3 cars. Ild love to have 5 or 6 but my Diablo alone doesn get many miles, the NSX far less. So 2 or 3 max and even then they would be neglected with low miles. Thats one reason why if I was bless with a CGT, Diablo, and say DB9 or Bentley to round it out I wouldnt have much of a problem selling them all for a Zonda. Cause even with a Zonda only it sadly wouldnt get alot of miles. Though with a Zonda I would have to have "something" else even if it was a Mini to have fun with because when the Zonda breaks it could be a few months till everything is fixed with the factory being so tiny.

my heart says Diablo
my right root says CGT
my brain says LP640...but its almost impossible to find a 6 speed pearl yellow one, or orange, or ballon white, or blue.

the thing is with the way LP640 and CGT prices are sinking I think it would be best to do whatever it takes to get one soon at these prices before they spike up, atleast the CGT will, the LP640 not so much. With the Diablo I could always buy one back in a few years for a similar price even if they go up in value if I cant find a perfect LP640 and if the Diablo still feals fast after the CGT/LP640 or maybe Zonda by then......

Zonda and Diablo would be HEAVEN!!

and theyd have the same tail lights
FIAT taillights are the shit

Well, if you weren't such an attention whore, you could sell the Diable, buy a Yellow ZR1 and have money left over in case the mowing business goes south.

haha Larry

if you sell the Diablo to this guy are you going to get a CGT by spring then?
As long as you have something, either an LP640, CGT, or keep your Diablo, in time for driving season then you really can't go wrong either way

Im starting to think no. If I had a choice Ild got 05 CGT for the upgraded clutch and brakes...and the CF gear knob, but I could always add that onto an 04. The 05s warrentys will be running out in 09, so if I wait some I should be able to get a better deal. Now that being said, if the right car at the right price came around, I couldnt pass it up 04 or 05
