come on palmer!!!
youre smarter than to fall for this type of bullshit!!!
stupid mags and internet auto pages throw this kiind of nonsence out all the time to get attention and sell mags. Hows that new NSX coming along??? you know the V10 of hybrid that was due out in 2003, then 2005, then 2006, then 2008, then 2009 and on and on and on.
Lambo IS making a SV version that looks like it will be reveiled in maybe Detroit, if not Geneva for sure. HOWEVER the SV does NOT mean its 2wd like its been in the past. Audi WILL NEVER EVER EVER allow such high HP and heavy cars to be 2wd EVER AGAIN!!! Its just not safe at all, and thats something even I agree on!!!

the new Murci SV looks to be 720 or 750 hp too!!! from some lil birdies that told me a secret
OMG!!!!

Audi happens to be owned by VW.
VW happens to be owned by Porsche.
Porsche happens to make a car called a 911 GT2 which is 530hp RR.

it makes too much sence to be that simple lol

Audi has been handling Lambo for a bit, VW never really got into it, and Porsche just bought up enough controlling share recently. If anything this means a GM type of car were a Gallardo and R8 are the same and a VW and Porsche cloan with follow soon. And they stop spending big money on "unessicary toys" like Veyrons and CGTs

and I think the new GT2 is AWD

VWAG doing badge engineering? They do cross platforms with their B and D platform but it's not like slapping on a different badge like GM products. Phaeton/A8/Continental shares the same platform but they all are distinctive enough to make it a different product. The Gallardo and R8 may share SOME parts but not a "cloan" (it's clone, btw).

Sucks they stopped investing in R&D...I love underappreciated halo cars...like the VW W8 4motion Passat.

the guy moving in in a few weeks has a Passat, I dont think its awd though

and its only a matter of time with clones, or damn near ones. Looks at Porsche, their entire line ups all look the same Well atleast the Cayanne and Pan America are very much alike. Porshe/VW/Audi and FIAT will be like the big 3 here with everything basicly the same

VWAG, Fiat Group like the Big2.5 here? Are you kidding me? Have you seen their product line up? Then again, the Alfa Romeo 159 does use a GM engine but with Alfa designed pistons and connecting rod IIRC. But besides, that , I don't see the resemblance. VWAG has a distinctive product line up with a specific target market even when the platforms are shared. Where as I can't tell the different between a Yukon, Yukon Denali, Denali, Denali XL. Or Aspen vs Durango? How about Milan/Fusion/MKV? Same design, different taillight, trim, badge. Not the case with VWAG.

The B5/5.5 Passat was one of the best sedans ever made IMO no matter what the trim level. It was nothing extravagant, nothing fast or innovative; but it did what a sedan should do brilliantly. The only sedan that surpasses the B5/5.5 platform is the W124...something about that platform....and the W201 is also a fantastic base also.

you know what I ment

I dont get what all the numbers and letter you just said lol but Audi and co./FIAT seem to have done it right, not like the big 3 where a Cadilac escalade is for the most part a glorified chevy silverado 1500 or a chevy subrurban or whatever it is is basicly the same as a hummer h2 and the h2 is just the chevy colorado which was just the s10

Yes, what is noted is true. I was there.

A couple of other points:

> Named: Murcielago LP670-4 SV.
> Shaved off 100 kg of weight.
> Added 30 hp of power.
> Net result: 0-60 mph in 3.2 seconds.
> Limited edition of 350 units, made over the next year

Looks-wise the car is quite aggressive. There are more angles to the front, and they have nicely incorported air intakes on the hood next to the A-Piller. The wheels are a new design and will be a shiny black - The design is nice; I don't care much about the shiny black part. The side mirrors are also nicely redesigned. The back in incredibly aggressive. Although the tail housing remains the same, the bumper protrusions are significant - think Gallardo SL. There is a choice of a standard wing or a more aggressive wing. Standard wing takes top speed up to 342 km/h (2 more than the LP640). The larger wing limits top speed to 337 km/h. Extensive use of carbon fibre all around. The lower edges of the car will be a matte-black carbon fiber while the upper portions will be a gloss black. You can get a big "SV" on the side as an option. Carbon ceramic brakes are standard. Proportions relative to the LP640 remain the same.

Interior of the car looks very nice. Extensive use of alcantara. Passenger side has choice of leather as well.

Overall the car looks hunkered down and mean. Price in Singapore is $1.1 mm, but worldwide price benchmark used was 25% premium to the standard LP640 price.

Car will be officially announced in March 2009. First deliveries in June 2009.

More thoughts as I remember them.

Best,
Vik.
