It’s back! The 5th annual Indy Tech Session! For one day a year, the Griot’s garage distribution center in Plainfield opens its doors to hold a car care tech session. Certified car care technicians are flown in to make sure you get the latest and greatest tips and techniques to achieve show quality paint. Whether you are attending for the first time or this has become a part of your annual car care tradition, you won’t want to miss out. We will be demonstrating a host of new products, including our newest and coolest addition to our car care line. Bring your car down to show it off or get a first hand demonstration on it, either way, you’ll have fun while you are here.

Breakfast eats and beverages served. Don’t miss this fun and informative tech session.

From Downtown or East of Indy: take I-70 West to Plainfield. Take the HWY-267/Plainfield X66 North. Take a right at the second traffic light which is Stanley Blvd. Take the very next right to Airwest Blvd. Griot’s Garage is located behind 5/3rd Bank and Stoops Buick Dealership.

This thing starts about 9:30 in the morning and runs through late afternoon. Lunch is served around noon.

For those on the NE side of Indy that want to drive over a group, post responses here.

Just to clarify, you can buy most anything Griot's sells at the open house. They don't offer a discount anymore, but you do save on shipping. You might find a deal on some scratch and dent items (tool chests, cabinets, etc.) but most of this stuff is cleared out during the scratch-n-dent sale they have earlier in the year.

I received an email coupon from Griots for 15% off any of their car care products valid till 4/23/09. I've attached the key code below.

So who's doing the Griots drive from the northside? Weather's going to be perfect and they do give out free stuff. Last year they gave out bottles of their cleaner. You might also get a picture of your car on the Griots website. (ask me how I know ).

Count me out. Sorry. I got double booked with an event with the BMW club on Saturday. Plus, I've got no car.

I would like to attend this one also, but hunting in the early am, then have to work.

No idea. I do have the attention of the area manager in Boston and we are talking on a daily basis. He is supposed to have a call with the factory tomorrow morning to decide what parts to replace this time or if they are going to send over a complete gearbox and swap it out. Lambo Ohio is going to pull off the rear bumper tomorrow and get ready to pull the transmission (again).

So I should know something early next week.

Some other interesting tidbits:

Of the 14 months that have elapsed since the car went off warranty it has been sitting under Lamborghini Ohio's roof for 7.

I have received two "proof-of-insurance" cards from my insurance company (the ones you get every six months) and I've not been able to put either one in the car yet. I should have canceled the insurance policy when I took the car in; I could have saved one entire 6-month premium.

Lamborghini Ohio (an authorized dealer) has been servicing my car with an unapproved transmission fluid (Mopar 75W90 rather than the Agip fluid called out in the service schedule).

My car is the ONLY 6-speed Gallardo in the WORLD that has suffered a synchro failure. My gearbox is the FIRST to be cracked open in the US by an authorized dealer.

Imout, Im working, and I have no car
Rick has my car, but its going back to Chicago soon hopefully

and Rick, do what I do with the insurance, call and suspend coverage EXCEPT for comp. I do this most of the time with my cars. Lambo Ohio should have insurance to cover all of it anyways, but it wouldnt hurt to let them know you took the coverage off to be safe. I still have converage on my Diablo just in cause something happens in transport or when they were test driving it, just to be on the safe side. To just sit in the showroom for months, Id suspend it

Due to the overwhelming response, I'm thinking about the C&C on Meridian Street that was posted on Ferrari Chat.

Webby, please don't edit me. Since when is a car get together a bad thing? I didn't like that. If you're going to inhibit that, I'm not sure you got the right intentions here. A little too self-serving for me.

just wanted to add on to that..
Sorry if I am a little self-serving after putting $400 into hosting this website countless hours of work programming it, not to mention the hours spent on the road driving to and from Indy, gas money, even the ticket my friend got. That's not to say I haven't gotten a lot - friends, rides, a little advertising revenue - out of this, but forgive me if I'm not exactly thrilled that this C&C is taking off, considering some of my own events (like the ND charity show) have gotten little or no interest, and considering how much hypocrisy and crap I had to put up with from the people who started this C&C. I hope it doesn't sound like I'm whining here, because I'm really not. I just want you to understand why I edited your post.

For once there drama and intrigue and you're not in the middle of it!!

To summarize, we've all been looking for a good spot to hold a weekly Coffee and Cars here in Indy, and looks like we've found it. We need to put aside our differences and embrace the location and the passion we all have for sports and exotic cars. I was skeptical, but there were Ferraris and Aston Martins, Loti and NSXs. We were missing some Lambos though. So, I propose that this location be advertised on all sites, but we can still maintain our separate clubs, and events. I will try to post some pics.

Webby, NO ONE cares "who's" (whose? whos? i dunno) event this is except for you.

This is your forum so I won't walk all over your house with my shoes on. If anyone is interested in location/time, please PM me. We're trying to get a section roped off right by the patio looking over the parking lot also.
