Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione

Is it just me, or is this one sexy car...

The car is driven by a Maserati-sourced aluminum 4.7L V8 making 450 horsepower and 347 lb-ft of twist. A six-speed gearbox with paddle shifters channels power to the rear wheels and can also be operated in full automatic mode. Like the engine, the car's suspension is also a refugee from Maserati.

Years ago, I drove an Alpha 146JTD 5-speed around Italy. Turbo diesel. Not close to the 8C, but an absolute blast to drive. Always hoped they would return to the US and looks like they will with the 8C.

I like it. I wouldn't mind seeing a full shot of the seats...

I think they are going to start at 100,000 euro.

They will probably be a little more than that though.

A little more power and it will be in Thunder Vette's league. Right Dan?

I hate being Capt. Negative on this, but that seems like a bit much for a car that looks like a RX7 with an Rx8 interior with the less output than a new vette.

I agree on the price being steep. When I first saw it, I thought they would target a more realistic price point for the masses. Still waiting for them to come up with the a fun car for the US market that hits the "affordable" price point. And if I can ask for even more, reliable too!

I believe the Japanese have been doing just that for years...

And they've been doing a darn good job of it too. I am really digging the new GT-R from Nissan. We should start seeing some more news on the return of the Supra too. Still waiting for spy photos of that one! Last I heard, target price of $80k for the Supra. Puts it in line with the GT-R.
