Well, Ferrari has gone off the deep end as well. The new car has lost the simplicity and elegance that Ferrari fans have long preached about.

Looks awful... as much as Dan likes to rant about Ferrari/Lambo, I do have to kind of agree with him

needless to say stupid name too. "THE" Ferrari? Of course the latest super Ferrari is always going to be the best / ultimate... or is it all downhill from here? What's the next one going to be called?

The way that I see the car is that it is essentially a 458 Widebody V12 done by Mansory or another company that just ruins cars. The P1 is gorgeous. No frills, no god awful vents and multi-layered elements.

The best part about this is the biased masses on fchat that are talking about how the LF is the best thing to come out of the gates in Maranello. Many people have been criticizing the P1 talking about how they can't believe that a car company could ever pass on a V8TT engine in a super car and be OK with it. Apparently the F40 and 288 GTO are soon forgotten.

Although I know what you mean about simple elegance.

Bill, that picture is a perfect example. The 308 GTB has one of my favorite side profiles of all time. So clean so simple.

You can't seriously believe that a 963 hp car built out of the race team parts bin is just another car for posers, just because of who built it, can you?!

I understand your adversion to driver aid technology in certain cases, we all have a threshold we can't in good concious cross. For example, I won't put disc brakes on my Vette, wanting to do the most with the least, but of course I don't begrudge the 63 Vette driver with them newfangled stoppers. Paddles; never had a use for em until I drove Maseratis. Yeah, it seemed to me, there is a place for this in my own personal automotive heirarchy while still finding extreme satisfaction in nailing a perfect double clutch downshift. Take a deep breath, calm down, appreciate that SOMEONE at leat cares to build cars with more than global impact cabon footprint mpg bs in mind and smile that you can still choose to drive whatever YOU wish.

I do know one thing, this car would make me break my "won't drive a hybrid" pledge. .

Good post Bill. Just watched the video, this definitely does sell it a lot more than those pictures do. The front is still hideous, the back and side are growing on me

Well ferraris are for posers regardless, but its not about who builds it, but more who WILL NOT be driving it, after buying it. The things I the themost about ferrari ownrs is they don't drive their cars.....and even worse, instead will wax and polish them then goto car meets and concourse then talk about fucking racing hritage all while braging how little miles they have and poclaim how its never been redlined or "raced" fuck them, fuck them to hell!!!
Laborghini and porsche are almost just as bad. The 918 is a disgrace. They keep sending me "vip" sowing crap trying to get me to buy it, I just throw it in the trash when I see the 918 on the cover packet.
As far as driver aids, all the dosi allow even more inept morons with more money than brains....or driving ability (if they vn posses any at all) to buy these thing and act like the twats they are. They litteraly can't drive anything hard or at the limit...hell even 8/10 without a computer doing it all for them. They are video gme racers, bench racers, magazine racers. They are tards. I have more respect for ricers than most exotic car owners now

Can we have one thread that doesn't get derailed into "F Ferrari and all Ferrari owners" ? Just one?

Even if 90% of Ferrari owners are like that, the ones who do join this site or have joined this site are not and it's insulting to them. So let's keep the rants to a minimum in the future please...

To be fair I did include most lambo and porsche owners too, aswell as most modern exotic owners.

These days a lot of people meet the criteria that primarily ferrari owners only possesed
I distain them all, they ruined something I loved. They took the soul, the passion, the love I had away and neutered something so simplistic an pure for the sake of getting acclaim and attention to be a part of something they had no business, passion, or skills to be a part of.

The F40 was real out of the box thinking when released. People hold it in high regard.

LaFerrari is real out of the box thinking again. Innovation moves the automobile industry forward.

We can still enjoy the soft spot in our hearts for technology past while enjoying where this wacky road leads us.

With that said, I think Lambo got a little carried away with that new one. In contrast, Ferrari embraced change while still holding onto some of its brand identity. Good on them.

Fact is that every single group has less than exemplary individuals that detract from the overall quality of the group. Ferrarichat has it's members that are completely ridiculous, so does Lambopower, so does NASIOC (Subaru), so does Lotuschat, so does 6Speed, etc. It's the individuals that you choose to associate with that determines what you can get out of the experience. By being hung up on the bad apples, you are failing to utilize a potential resource.

Ferrarichat I loaded with more crap than gold. Lambopower is lopsided too, maybe 70 bad/30 good. Ferrarichat is easily 90 bad/10 maybe good

I just try and make the most out of the percentage that I see as "correct." This is typically what I do in any social scenario. I even try and benefit from the people I believe are complete tools. There are many people on Ferrarichat that I dislike; however, I can learn certain things from them especially in regards to technical information.

I still have an account there and read around 2 or 3 times a month, but I'm not interested in any new cars so I'm always in the labochat section or the f40 supr car one trying to read about them all while ignoring all of joe sackeys douchey posts....which are about 1/3 of all the posts about f40s :-\

I'm weird anyways, nobody really sees things from the point of view I do, or lives the way I do. So most stuff is jermane (sp?) to me
