I have to say, this is the first NEW Vette that has been truly appealing to me. Looks good in silver.

Pretty much. I think all recent sportscars are WAY overpriced. 80K for a Boxster S, 100K for a normal Corvette, 115 for a 911 S.

Agreed. Boxster prices have been steadily going up for years and it's way out of hand. Viper and Vette are too much now too
I didn't like the new C7 at first. I've found that I generally don't like any new car designs, the difference is how fast they grow on me. The Vette grew on me more quickly than most. I actually love the rear now!

We had a new Vette come through work. Still had the dealer plate on. Totaled. Guy put it into a ditch.

I remember when i saw the new boxster at a dealer for 90k, about shit myself. Vettes and boxsters used to be 40k cars.
When you sell less and sell to the "monthly payment" crowd you have and can raise prices.....who care they will just be trading them in in 2-3 years for the next latest and greatest monthly payment.
Same for exotics, most cant afford them, but they can the monthly lease for a lil bit.

I'm still on the fence with the new Vette design. I have observed that some color combinations really work well with the design and some seem to accentuate all the elements I don't care for. Too many sharp lines and the colors that pull those lines out make the car look like a matchbox toy (to me). It appears they have tried to mix elements of the front end of the early C3 design with the C2 with limited success. Performance-wise the thing does rock for the money. I've always thought the C6 Corvette was the best bang for the buck. The C7 is no different.

Bang for the buck was great when the z06 was 55k....now for 100k you can get far cooler, rarer, more special exotic cars for that money....and much nicer.
Who would really take a new vette over say a used Gallardo? Or Diablo? Or 512tr? I can think of alot cooler cars for the money.
When new vette prices approach the truly special and amzing cars in price, that i think is the true no brainer......then again im sure the monthly payment crowd like the rates on a new vette and warrenty vs rate on 10= year old car and maintaince cost :/

Agree, the new front and rear ends of the Camero look great, hopefully the Z28 will be even sharper!

I have a hard time with the harsh lines. Loved my c-6. Not a fan yet of the c-7

First C7 I've liked. I wouldn't pay for one though. However, many would say the same about my $50,000 Mustang.

I'm pretty sure you can get a new vette with the z51 and sport exhaust for under $60k, I think that's pretty hard to beat. Putting aside the looks and etc that would be my drivers choice over anything in the price range.

Got to sit in one today, and I have to say it feels very well put together. The only thing that REALLY bothers me is fake intakes above the rear wheels on non Z51 models. Looks insanely cheap, and totally spoils the rear of the car. The interior is actually proper this time around. Very solid feeling.

as much as I like exclusivity I tend to agree. An exotic off warranty can be crazy $$$ to maintain. I wish I didn't have to choose, I'd take a new vette and a diablo, maybe an even dozen of choices.

Im spending more on the Diablo for clutch work etc this month than my yearly mortgage runs, and i could not care less.
It aint no thang, i knew about all these expences before i bought the car.
I look at it this way, it still cheaper than any kid, any wife, all the vacations, clothes, jewerly etc it take to keep one happy etc.
A few K a year or several k every several years is just a minor blip on the radar.
Shit a truck and trailer solves any service issues, just trailed mine to ohio. No biggie, if not a flatbed.
If taking care of a car is hard for you guys, you really need some real challenges and adversity in your lives.
