What went wrong? Does all the technology make you overly confident? Did he pick a bad line?

Warning - there is profanity in the video.

missed the apex at the crest, back end got floaty and kicked out and around he came
went in too fast likely seeing how much ground he made on the Viper

Definately late apex.... you need to look at the track not the car in front of you, and take the right line and not do what they do...

Yup. Late apex. He would have been better off to gone straight off the track on the left rather than trying to save it. Then he over corrects, at which point Isaac Newton took control and the rest is history. Given the large number of skid marks on the pavement, he's not the first to fall victim to this spot on the track.

But on the brighter side, he needed to take the car in for service anyways. The new Audi voice activated Dynamic Stability Control (aka "save your ass" ) system wasn't working properly. Notice that it failed to respond to the command "Please don't hit the wall!" despite repeated attempts.

Is that kinda like telling your golf ball "Please don't go in the water" after you hit it?
