Nitrous is for rAcers, mostly drag. RIcers have stolen it and are building a culture around it with those stupid movies. Drag racers were building motors around nitrous use before Honda even built the first Civic.

And it won't blow up your motor any more than other power enhancing goodies. In fact, 100 hp with N2O is easier on a motor than adding 100 hp with radical cam, compression, etc... The problem most guys run into is insufficient fuel supply, then the kit goes lean and melts stuff, because you just dumped extra oxygen (the O part) into your cylinders and need the extra fuel to keep the mixture correct.

You wont really use it on lapping days and such, but it is great fun when playing around. A 125 hp set up on a 350 Chevy will last about 10 full 1/4 mile passes, so in the 120 second range before the bottle is empty. Some guys only launch with it, some only in high gear. Some however, with good traction and stout motors add stages all down the track. Fun, but expensive!
