movable aero parts arent anything new starting back around with the McLaren F1 and used most recently on cars like the Gallardo, Murcielago, CGT, GTR, Crossfire, SLR, etc.
they have long been banned in most racing series, but flexiwings that change based on airflow to essentially be the same as moveable parts has long been accepted in F1

now theres some cool stuff coming out that are more advanced than a little flap going up under braking or a fixed wing moving up from being fless with the body to in the air for more downforce

pretty cool stuff

I know! Every picture i have seen of his shop has a 355 in it!! That is one of, if not the best sounding ferrari's ever made, but man do they need constant fixing! Valve guides, cats, headers, sticky parts inside the cabin etc.....

when I called him to ask a few q's about F40s and asked him they would be more reliable than a 355

thankfully they should be damn close to a 308 in that field

Car is now at Brian's shop. I am so excited to get this project rolling!! When I was there there were 3 Ferrari's in for service. A 400i on the floor, a 308 and 328 up on lifts..... Brian was a super nice guy and was excited to start working on the car. Will keep you all updated with what is going on.

lol

the one Im looking into now is at 385k, which is more than I want to spend BUT has turbo, brake, seat, etc upgrades
which I would do anyways, so I can justify a lil more.
Im sure they will come down a good bit more as its at 11k miles and doesnt have full records, been on the track, and 5 owners. None of which I car about, but alot of Ferrari nancys are looking for garage queens.
11k miles over 20 years is not alot at all, except for F40s its kinda high milage

after the Diablo low milages problems, I want nothing to do with anything under 10k miles no matter what the price, in fact if its over 20k miles even better!!

finding F40s is hard (even though they made the same number of CGTs and they are everywhere) let alone high milage ones, so I may be waiting a bit. On top of that in 07/08ish they were 450-600k cars, but back from 01-06 they were 315-385k cars makes buying now hard to justify as they are on their way down again

Here is a list of problems with the car:
- driver's side door handle doesn't work
- no radio / CD player
- taillight covers cracked
- fog lights not installed
- paint cracking
- dirty inside and out
- crack on both front corners
- dent behind driver's door
- right side T-top leaks (according to the prev. owner, I didn't notice it though)
- driver's seat needs to be moved manually
- gas gauge runs out before hitting E

I thought that was bad enough. The seller told me the fog lights were in the trunk but they weren't, so I asked her to ship them to me, which she did. When I opened the package I found that one of them had cracked during shipping (little pieces of glass everywhere).

But I was fine with that... a minor problem. This weekend I was going to install them. Now last night I got a call from my friend whose house I parked it at saying that one of the rear tires is flat I don't know if it's vandalism or if I just ran over some glass or what. This car is cursed.

Oh well... going to tackle these problems one at a time. :/

wow, lol, your car has character reminds me of the Buick, everytime you take it out its an adventure because you dont know if you will make it back or not

do you have to roll the window down and reach outside to open your door then roll it back up?? Saw a guy at C&C in his Escalade have to do that, it was
gonna suck when the windows freeze shut
to be honest, I wouldnt out any money into crap that doesnt matter, just keep it runniing. And the tire can be fixed either with a simple plug kit from Walmart or taking it to Tire Barn or what not for liek $20. You should get those air compressors that plug into the cig lighter and fill the tires back up with air just in case shit happens. And the Walmart tire plug thing is worth it too, Ive had to plug my truck and trailer tires a good 15 times this year ....I drove on bald tires for like 9 months and my trailer tires are bald as hell till spring

Look at the exhaust system differences between the track and street cars.

Also Top Gear on You Tube has a great video of old vs new where Jeremy C says the F40 is HIS FAVORITE CAR OF ALL TIME

Just 2400 lbs, no nanny gear.

Ferrari claims like 2600, but they are a good 3000-3200 in the US

it is cool to look at the LM/GTE race cars vs street, escpeically with no muffler BS
