One of the car mags just had a big write up on it - either Car and Driver or MotorTrend. It dyno'd at 430 to the wheels and 507 crank. I've got more than that and I'm about 500 pounds lighter. Although their launch control will give it an advantage off the line I think I'd take it at 100 mph+.

Are you running stock or modified with your Vette?

CASCAIS, Portugal — Carlos Ghosn, Nissan president and CEO, announced today that at Germany's famed Nürburgring, on April 16-17, 2008, a production Nissan GT-R achieved a lap time of 7 minutes, 29 seconds, making it the fastest production car ever to lap the Nürburgring circuit. (Earlier, a GT-R posted a 7-minute, 38-second lap time, establishing it as one of the world's fastest production cars.)

Previously, according to Ghosn, the Porsche GT2 and the Porsche Carrera GT achieved 7-minute 32-second lap times at the Nürburgring. Nissan's GT-R is now officially some 3 seconds quicker around the Nürburgring than Porsche.

In its first Super GT race at Japan's Suzuka Circuit, in March 2008, the GT-R finished 1st and 2nd.

"This car shows that Nissan is capable of bringing great technology to market, against anyone, in any niche," said Ghosn.

The all-wheel-drive GT-R, Nissan's technological flagship, is powered by a 480-horsepower, twin-turbo V6. It has a coefficient of drag of just 0.27. Built on Nissan's Premium Mid-ship platform, it features die-cast aluminum, steel and carbon-fiber construction. The brakes are Brembo monoblock multipiston calipers with 15-inch floating, drilled and ventilated disc brakes. Driver-adjustable shocks, gear-shift speed and VDC-R stability control are included, along with a dual-clutch six-speed paddle shift gearbox (transaxle) with quick shifts or full automatic operation.

The base Nissan GT-R will be priced at $69,850 when it goes on sale in the U.S. at selected Nissan dealers in June 2008.

What does this mean to you: If you're considering a Porsche 911 or a Corvette Z06, Nissan offers a faster car for less money. — Ken Gross, Correspondent

When you lift the car up and then set it back down, does the shock/spring need to settle for a while before I can get an accurate measurement?

Don't know about the NSX, but mine does. I'll take it for a quick spin around the block to let everything reseat.

Did you get it back on scales to verify the cornering weight is still correct?

The only blue/green (Grabber Blue) Pantera I know of in the area would be the one that was in Ray Skillman's museum. Do you think that was the one?

I don't know. Skillman has been running that car auction about every week. Maybe he sold it? He's running his collection through it, so maybe someone picked it up...or maybe there's a new Pantera moved to town?

I was out of my car, otherwise I would have tried to catch them. They had way to much of a head start.

On a seperate note about the Ray Skillman collection and the auction he's running, I heard it through the grapevine that the cars are selling dirt cheap at the auction. I heard $10k or less. Also heard that the crowd is made up of stand-ins and that there are usually only 4-5 bidders at any auction. They are tyring to make it look bigger and more competitive than it really is.

Two sightings today...nice to be out of the house...

~ 5pm. headed west on 465 around Keystone Ave...Red NSX with window tint

Just a short time later, I HEARD it before I saw it. I was walking into the Costco at Castleton, and heard the sound of a 351 Cleveland, stopped in my tracks in the parking lot, looked toward the road and there it was...Pantera. I couldn't name the color. Not sure if it was blue, green or a shade of the two. SEXY!

Duz185...I need a fix...please give me a ride! I'm begging!!!!

Noblesville used car lots on Allisonville Rd: 60's Chevelle blue with white racing stripes. Looks to be a 454. I was driving home with a hot pizza and in a hurry, so didn't get anymore than that.

Dreamed about a 56 Nomad last night, orange with white top. Just kept driving back and forth past it. Odd dream.

sue you for what??

I forgot to give them the paperwork I had signed off on approving the changes.

Yea Dan, they actually wanted the signed paper so bad they were willing to sue over it.

Sure makes you wonder what your HOA will do for you putting in a Dirt Track in your backyard.

it worked for Mark Z

I did the HOA thing just long enough to sign-off on all the changes I had done to the yard, then resigned. All the benefits without the hassle. Worked out well. Although, they did threaten to sue me at one point. and I wasn't doing donuts in my own yard.
