first, thank your Brian!! lol
I think I messed up my gear sycros racing you some
and its not even my fault, (long story short)stupid Diablos need to be shifted sloooower, not as fast as I was.

so Im sick of huuuuuge ass mofo'n bills and am considering axing this car cause its just not enjoyable to baby it or to know every time I push it it could crap out and cost 10x more than it should to fix ....maybe

Im thinking about a Challenge Stradale
im liking this one:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2004-Ferrar-360-Challenge-Str...

higher miliage means it should be sorted out by now, and it cost less. and why should I pay top dollar for a low miliage car that I plan on driving alot anyways?? just dumb
Its the color I want, inside is so so. Alcantara is fine by me, the red isnt a big deal, Id change the color of the yellow roll bar though and the red calipers

I dont know its history or anything like that to say I want to buy THIS one, but what do ya guys think??
I would have gotten this over the Diablo, but I prefer manual to F1, but who knows now.....

F1 beats $$,$$$.00 repair bills

as far as another car, Im limited
$1.5 millon McLaren, not gonna happen
500k+ Pagani Zonda S 7.3 too much for me now and a painin the ass getting it inthe US
350k+ Porsche Carrera GT, prices continue to keep going higher and not a sexy car, nice, but not exotic nice looks wise
450k+++Ferrari F40, way too high and old. nice, very nice, but if Lambo bills scare me, this will make me shat myself!
400k+ Murci LP640, nice, not as exotic as a Diablo and sure as hell not worth double for very little more performance, plus not a huge fan of E Gear, and 9/10 are

Well, I'm a huge fan of the Challenge and think it would make for a pretty awesome ride. It's a shame to have to give up the huge pimp-factor doors the lambo's got, though.

You know, you could always super/turbo charge the NSX and save a ton of $$$ and get a far more functional car out of it. That said, I do understand the allure of the Ferrari.

It's too bad the Lambo's such a pain to live with, it has such an impressive presence on the road.

All your mentioned cars are great but in my opinion nothing beats the total WOW power of a Lamo with it's doors tipped up.

Dan,

Why don't you save yourself a ton of money and come over to the darkside. There are several Lotus Exige combinations out there that will run circles around those Prancing Horses and are more fun to drive. Not to mention the fun you'll have dusting off the competition at track days. That's my two cents.

As much as i LOVE Lotus's, i doubt that a Exige or Elise could put up lap times as fast as a CS.

Unless it's Jason, Chirs, or your's next summer after the S/C.

Im guessing after this fix, with the total money I spent on fixing this damb car this year I could have bought a good used Lotus

I love the Loti, I just think "something" may be missing to get me over the edge. Maybe I need a good test drive

I dont want to sell the Diablo, but I just dont think I can put up with this shit anymore, and the costs of it just takes all the fun out of it. I could never really enjoy it after this knowing that simply going fast will rackup huge bills

but those doors, man I cant pass up those doors......

It would sure be hard to walk away from the Diablo, but I understand the maint issues. Hey, at least you don't have to lay awake at night thinking about cam belts!
The CS would be a great car. There always is something out there that can be faster, but like the Cadillac ad says, "When you turn it on does it return th favor?"
Follow your heart (and wallet) but the Lamborghini has been the ultimate attitude car since the Countach was unleashed in the middle of a fuel crisis and strangulating emission requirements, basically flipping the bird at society. It was a pretty capable car too, and has remained so thru the years.

Just a thought...

Are they the same parts that keep breaking over and over again?

its been pretty much one of everthing
after awhile itll be an entirely new car

I keep falling back on the notion that its just a one time fix then it'll be all good, but it seems every part is a one time fix

Ive forgotten everything that Ive fixed on that thing this year, Ild have to go look at my service recoreds

I can however tell you in 4+ years of the NSX ive had to fix ABSOLUTLY FREAKIN NOTHING!!!!

And its a manual transmission with AWD too!

Dan, another option would be to get a Superleggera...

Lambo's CS...

Just newer, and a warranty!!

Or you could get a Ferrari 430 Scuderia.

Either way you'll be happy IMO.

Dan, hearing about your Lambo problems I can understand how you feel, so buy something that you can run this Spring with us and not have the constant fear it'll break. That's a heck of a weight to have over your head.

Dan,

I'd be more than happy to arrange test drives for you at the Lotus dealer in Chicago. You'll be surprised. As far as keeping up with the CS, unless you're an extremely talented driver, the Lotus is much easier to drive faster than the CS. And once again, the repair bills will be much lower. Heck, you could buy a good used Lotus Exige S and the new Lotus Cup Car for the track and be money ahead. You already have a truck and trailer. The Cup will rock your world. Let me know if you want to make the trip to Chicago. I can meet you there next Tuesday morning. They are also the Lambo dealer in Chicago. You might be able to work a deal.

Since we're all spending your money!!!

Here's my plan, sell everything and buy the 430 Scuderia Palmer mentioned. Before you say re-wrapped 360 again, read the current Forza article and test drive. It is as fast at the Fiorano track as an Enzo.

OK, don't like that one? Keep the Diablo for dates and light duty use, sell the NSX, add $40K to the proceeds and go buy a new yellow Z-06 for hell raising and track days. Anything you tear up will be under warranty for darn near forever and you can out-run the mysterious Thundervette that you keep running into.

If you do consider a Vette, I'd wait till that supercharged LS engine that was just leaked on the internet.

Not sure who's making the tranny for the GT-R, but it is using a 6-speed, dual clutch that is adjustable based on the type of driving you are doing: Normal, Snow, R-Mode (race). Shifting in normal is 0.5 seconds and 0.2 seconds in R-Mode. Also full auto shifting or sequential manual control via gearshift or paddle shifters. Has some other interesting whistles and bells such as downshift rev matching.

I'm running a stock BW T-5 tranny in 1983 280ZXT. Thing has been bomber with the HP I'm putting out. Same unit used in the Mustang 1983 to 2000. should be able to handle up to 450RWHP before it gernades. Little clunky on shifting, but figure they have to be better after 25 years.

Really, Dan, it's time to cash out the Diablo and sink the $$$ into the Skylark.

Seriously, I think it would very easy to build the Buick into a great sportscar. Just swap out the engine, tranny, chassis, body, interior, wheels, tires and electronics with F360 parts.

Get a Z06 and send it to Unique for the Lambo doors and a total re-work. WARRANTY!!!!!!!!!!!!! Put a 250 shot bottle in it and take it off prior to having it towed to the dealer for WARRANTY work when/if needed.
