Don't know. Sackey brokered the deal and he is very discrete about who and how.

Another F40 hit the market: $525k 14,300 miles. On Ferrariads.com

This is an excellent F40 that we believe is now worth selling, as we also think these cars are appreciating rapidly. Investment quality cars are way, way up if Barrett Jackson and so on are any indication. If a Hemi Cuda is worth 1.7 million, surely the last Enzo era Icon (he died shortly after the 1987 European debut of this masterpiece) and arguably first of the outlandish supercars is worth 1/3 as much. Anyone serious enough to consider this car should know the basics - 478 hp twin turbo V-8, no power anything, no traction control or ABS, and only 211 ever built for the US market. Carbon Kevlar body and interior panels over tube frame construction and race-car-oriented design features abound. This car has now passed the magic 20 years that usually end the depreciation cycle and the build numbers make it a candidate for continued appreciation. Heck, even the European cars are all north of 385K euros and there are over 1000 of them. The only cheaper car, as far as I know, is Roland Linder's car that was resurrected from a burned hulk and he wants $350K for that one.

I am not aware of a single F40 listed worldwde at a lower price and this one is this low only because of the "high" miles - egad! - 700 miles per year on average! Frankly, I think the miles indicate at least some care and feeding, as sitting around is horrible for a car. Also, look at it like we did - with a "high" mile car you can use it as more than an objet d'art and enjoy the way it feels, sounds and moves without cringing that you turned your 3000 mile show queen into "just another" used F40. Please note that this is not a distressed sale, so please respect that.

This car has been properly serviced and cared for. In 2009-10 it received:

Full Service, including cam belts, most all engine seals, fuel pumps, fuel tanks removed and cleaned, injectors (all 16) serviced, fuel filters, all fluids changed, complete nose to tail inspection with more items than I can recall off the top of my head, but no corners were cut.

Tires

New clutch

Rebuilt alternator

Seats re-upholstered with proper Nomex from Re-Originals.

This F40 is extremely original, even the passive restraints still work. The only modification is the Tubi exhaust. No one has butchered the car for speakers, radar detector or the like.

The car is not perfect - it has some stone chips and the patina you would expect on a well-loved, but driven car that is 20 years old. It runs and drives as it should and we welcome any inspection you like. It runs cool even in Texas summer heat, has the explosive power you would expect from twin turbos and light weight. It comes with a new OEM front splitter, but I say leave the old one on for the inevitable scrapes (that is what we did).

I can also put serious buyers in touch with the well-respected mechanic who did all the work on the car while we have owned it.
