Lots of changes in store with the unified series this year under IMSA as sanctioning body, and NASCAR $$$$$ and promotioning behind it. The test weekend in Daytona just wrapped up in advance of the 24hr race on Jan 23. Corvette Racing topped the chart.

All the new rules, classes, schedule and photos here:

Keep Indy on July 25 open for our annual day at the track event.

Fantastic looking Audi from Daytona photos.

Looking forward to seeing the TUDOR series come together. Very surprised to see Flying Lizard running the R8.

Ferrari, apparently bored after completing development work on the 2014 LaFerrari hybrid supercar and stymied by Formula 1’s upcoming budget cap, is looking for a new outlet for its engineering itch. Enter prototype racing at Le Mans. Rumor has it Ferrari’s looking to throw its hat into the same ring currently dominated by Audi and its R18 e-tron Quattro race car, and it’s looking to win. From the looks of these spy photos of what appears to be a Ferrari LMP1 development car out testing, Ferrari might just have found its new “thing.”

From where we sit, there’s a lot of LaFerrari going on in the racer’s general look, although a closer inspection reveals LMP1-style swooping front fenders, a longer and flatter rear deck with all manner of vents, slats, and scoops—not to mention that giant rear wing. The cockpit is nearly identical to the roadgoing LaFerrari’s, but with a racy scoop added above it. Of course, there is the possibility that this car isn’t Ferrari’s first factory Le Mans prototype effort in 40-some years. Billionaire Ferrari reconfigurator James Glickenhaus—commissioner of Pininfarina’s beautiful P4/5 and the P4/5 Competizione race car—is working on a new project, and some aspects of this car match a rendering of that effort, which recently was teased by Glickenhaus on his Facebook page.

Are you still doing a suite this year? Cindy was asking. She said she didn't see anything about it on the Godstone website and when I clicked a link that I found, it came up with an error message.

Anyway, If you are doing it, I know Cindy would like a ticket.

Short answer is yes its in planning, however John has just bought/started a new company and is swamped, racing is pending for about a week while we decide now what we'll do for the suite party.

Race Party 2014 Friday July 25

We’re gearing up now. We won’t be using the Godstone Ranch on-line pay system this time, rather we’ll just collect checks the old fashioned way.

Mail checks to my attention to:

Hunt Construction Group
2450 S Tibbs Ave
Indianapolis, In 46241

Make checks payable to Hunt Construction Group, Inc. Price remains $150 each as in the past events. Revenue collections that exceed the cost of the event will be donated to the charity.

Thanks again for your interest and support!

If you want a banner ad running, they will do that too (no charge). Link it to a Facebook Page?

Need a graphic, 255 x 65 pixels, along with any links and they'll put it up.

Ok, we'll have the flyer done today and be ready for mass rollout. Time is shorter this year due to my late start so we need to spread the word quickly. Thanks for your help as always!

Here is the email invitation text we're sending out:

INDIANAPOLIS BRICKYARD GRAND PRIX RACING PARTY/FUNDRAISER JULY 25, 2014

Greetings race fans. We are getting set for the 3RD annual Charity Day at the Track for the IMSA TUDOR United Sportscar Championship (formerly Grand-AM) Road Racing series event at Indianapolis with Hunt Construction Group and Midwest Sports Car Club on FRIDAY, JULY 25, 2014. Last year we had a fantastic outing that benefitted the American Heart Association thru the generous ticket purchasing of the attendees.

To attend this fun, casual event simply purchase your all inclusive race day tickets for $150 per person. Activities on track and in our suite start at 9 am and run all day thru the 2hr 45 min feature race that starts at 5:40 pm, so you can participate as your schedule allows. NASCAR practice sessions will share the venue with the road race series in the morning and be part of the day’s events. Both the oval and the road course will be in use this day.

Our event is structured to raise funds and awareness for the American Heart Association while having a great time with friends, family and business associates. Your cost includes entrance to the track, access to our luxury Tower Terrace Hospitality Suite, garage and pit access, meet and greet opportunities with drivers in the suite, and lunch and food thru the race.

Please RSVP to me, and make payment arrangements via check payable to Hunt Construction Group and mail to:

Hunt Construction Group, Inc.
2450 S Tibbs Ave.
Indianapolis, In 46241
Attn: Race Outing

If you are new to the IMSA TUDOR Road Racing Association series, visit www.imsa.com for more information about the series and the cars.

SEE YOU AT THE TRACK!
