Bill...Griot's has a Under Carriage Spray for wheel wells. Have you ever tried it and how did it work? I assume no to those since you are doing something different.
Also, looks like you have cracks happening in your tires in the first pic. Time for new horse shoes for the dancing pony?
Griot's was out of that stuff whenever I tried to buy it. Now it's back in their catalog. Actually cheap STP spray on tire foam from WalMart blackens the wheel wells nice and fast. I use it on my SUV as so much of the wheel well shows on those, plus there is a lot of plastic in there. Doesn't last thru rain or anything, but it's cheap and fast. Also, the sprays won't cover some of the gray primer overspray, it would just make it shiny gray. Have you tried the Griot's spray?
I have 2 sets of wheels. You see the original style Michelin XWX in the pic, and yes, they are real old. Rick laughed at my car when he saw them.
I has a set of 16" Ferrari 328 wheels getting new shoes before spring.(better hurry, I know) Going with Bridgestone RE-01R. Ran on the 16" with Pirellis last fall but had a flat so I put the stock set back on.
