While unable to be driving the 308, I am fixing one of my pet peeves, dirty unsightly wheel wells. They were covered with overspray and road tar. The rears were real easy, clean, mask, spray. I used Wurth's Stoneguard, which is a typical european mfgr OEM supplied product for floor pans, wheel wells, rocker coatings, etc...

Fronts I wire wheel stripped to bare metal and treated the same. Also fixing cracked and scraped up fiberglass nose belly pan while it's up and sanding clean the aluminum belly pan. Will get good pics when light, but here's the rear wheel wells so far:

Bill...Griot's has a Under Carriage Spray for wheel wells. Have you ever tried it and how did it work? I assume no to those since you are doing something different.

Also, looks like you have cracks happening in your tires in the first pic. Time for new horse shoes for the dancing pony?

Griot's was out of that stuff whenever I tried to buy it. Now it's back in their catalog. Actually cheap STP spray on tire foam from WalMart blackens the wheel wells nice and fast. I use it on my SUV as so much of the wheel well shows on those, plus there is a lot of plastic in there. Doesn't last thru rain or anything, but it's cheap and fast. Also, the sprays won't cover some of the gray primer overspray, it would just make it shiny gray. Have you tried the Griot's spray?

I have 2 sets of wheels. You see the original style Michelin XWX in the pic, and yes, they are real old. Rick laughed at my car when he saw them.
I has a set of 16" Ferrari 328 wheels getting new shoes before spring.(better hurry, I know) Going with Bridgestone RE-01R. Ran on the 16" with Pirellis last fall but had a flat so I put the stock set back on.

Sorry, have not tried any Griot's products yet. Neighbor loves them for his BMW & Audi. I need to hit him up. He set me up with their catalog and I am very interested in giving it all a shot. I too need to do some wheel well work.

As for the overspray...you missed the Skillman tour. They actually use an airbrush to get the factory overspray correct when they restore. You may think twice about that on your 308. Could impact resale.

I'm running a discontinued set of Bridgestones now and love the heck out of them. Lost one to a flat last year and got the last one available from Tire Rack. RE950's on 15x6 stock rims. All weather tire which is silly for me since I only drive in the warm.

It's possible, but not probable. My service records show the orig owner took it in for every little thing, so it's unlikely that they never sold him tires! On the other hand, there are no reciepts for tires in my folder, so I'll check them for a date code and try to figure out how to decifer it if I find one.
