Here are a few pics I thought I would share from a pre Derby fund raising event. There were several nice cars on display there as part of the event. Here are a few pics and the rest are at http://www.flickr.com/photos/slapshots/ :

H2 Stretch at one of my best friend's weddings yesterday. My pictures of the actual wedding sucked Again reminded of how badly I need a DSLR. My camera's actually worse than normal point and shoots for stuff like this because the flash takes 10 seconds to prepare while cheaper cameras can flash instantly

some tulips and lastly trying out some editing on an LP640 pic from Chicago

Hey Andrew, the picture of the tulips is very cool. I am actually a little surprised that you had that much control over the depth of field with a point and shoot. It came out great!

DSLRs are so essential for indoor events. You have so many options with hotshoe flashes, fast lenses and high ISO that you just can't get with a point and shoot. I am actually taking mine to a rehearsal dinner for pictures next weekend. It should be interesting because shooting pictures of people is not something I usually do.

I have to keep my dog in line, when he does something bad he gets sprayed with dangerous things and not water haha

and Pars... I really like that Hard Rock picture and the flower one at the bottom

Thanks. That is the Hard Rock Cafe in Nashville, TN with the Bell South (or is it AT&T) building in the background.

I'm starting to get why DSLRs are so much better than my camera

It is amazing what all you can do with a DSLR, so is it time for you to get one?

About a year ago I was on the fence about getting a DSLR when I was getting a new camera. I thought having to purchase and change lenses would be a pain and the size of the DSLR vs what I was using, would I actually want to carry one around. I ended up getting the Nikon D60 and haven't looked back. I've bought several lenses and am still just amazed at what all it can do.

Nice spottings!

On Friday evening I spotted a yellow Diablo roadster parked with an F355 outside one of the nicer steak restaurants in Louisville.

Last month I saw a Red Ferrari 250 (not sure which model) actually driving around Louisville. I was floored and had to do a double take.

Last week I saw a Nissan GTR on I64 in Louisville also. It was silver, looked pretty nice.

I think that will catch me up for spottings for a while considering we have 5" of snow on the ground now and it is currently 27 degrees outside and raining.

As usual, nice shots Andrew. That model Diablo really is one of the best looking Lamborghinis.
