Thanks! And yeah your pictures do look better bigger. Does your camera actually have a special motion blur feature? Or are you just panning..?

Just panning. I have found that it is easiest to pan at full zoom (200 mm lens in those pictures) and get pretty far back. The speed limit is 45 on that road, so it makes it much easier for me to set up away from the road, zoom all the way out and pan with the vehicles.

Brian, are those pictures from an event or did you just happen to see them go by? They look good, especially the maroon Vette. I think they are a little too blurry, maybe just lower the exposure a little. I was experimenting with those kinds of shots when I first got my camera. I think I went up to 1/10th of a second, which was way too long.

A couple still turned out decently, but I can only find one.

Your S2000 picture looks great! I certainly get a feeling of speed in that one.

All of those cars just happened by when I was taking pictures, but it is in an area that on a nice day you see lots of nice cars around. I believe I was shooting 1/30 s with an ISO of 400 for those. The larger sizes seem more crisp, apparently some of the image was dulled when I resized it down.

Check out the larger WRX here:

and the larger Vette here:

The motion blur is still a work in progress for me, I just got a camera capable of doing this stuff last week. I am having fun practicing on cars passing by though.

took a lot of motion (pan) shots at Winged Warrior yesterday...I'll post them once they're up.

Very nice pictures. I really like the Supra one. Well done.

In Louisville I saw a Maserati Convertible and a nice Viper today. Yesterday I spotted a yellow Pantera GTS driving in the rain. I also thought I saw a 512 TR today, but couldn't get a good enough view to be certain.

I also saw a Red NSX for sale on Monday. I went by the same spot it was sitting at today though and it was no longer there.

This is something I have just learned how to do so I thought I would post pics of cars in motion here. Let me know what you think.

Suby 1 Wall 0

No kidding. The car's damage was minimal, the wall's was not. I am not sure Subaru meant "the ability to start from a stop, jump over a parking bumper, hop a curb and run into a brick wall" by it's slogan "the beauty of all wheel drive".

These aren't anything special, but I thought I would put them here.
*note: I did not take these pics (obviously)
Body roll extraordinaire.

Here's one for keeping with your Scooby theme and here's another when I was trying motion blur for the first time:

Pars,

Your photos are really cool too. I keep meaning to come back to this post and forget. Yours look like something out of National Geographic. Especially the horse with the black & white background.

Did they do painted horses all over Louisville like they did race cars in Indy and cows in Chicago?

Thanks! There were painted horses all over Louisville and I just stumbled upon that one a few weeks ago.

There really are some great pictures in this thread. Andrew, your HDR church turned out great, too.

Here is another somewhat "National Geographic" shot for you. This was taken at a parade in Toronto:

Well, i guess its related to cars in a way...

Very cool picture. Here are a few of my favorite non car pictures:

1) Atlantis Bahamas
2) Casa Loma, Toronto, Canada
3) Hammerhead Shark, Atlantis Bahamas
4) A woman on stilts dressed entirely as a plant, Animal Kingdom, Orlando, FL
5) A selective color horse from Louisville, my only Flickr explore photo to date
