We are now racing magazine test results and have a xxx vs. xxx thread going. Next up, group buy on body kits. Better lock this up fast!

I don't think there's a Forum on the net that doesn't start hitting the rags once the snow falls... unless it's a snowmobiling forum, at which case the opposite occurs.

Don't know. This is a one off, not a kit, so a dyno with all the life support connections is needed to get to the edge. I have 8.3 JE forged pistons and Total Seal rings, so we have the right guts in place. A guy on FC (gasp!) Has a supercharged 308QV injected at 10 psi boost.

I can't wait to actually see this car in action. We were talking some time back about starting a cruise from a Car-shop with a Dyno.

I thought Targa or Coupe was THE Option on NA2's?

There were no coupes in USA (except zanardi) after 1996.

the 3.2L NSX's picked up their speed from the extra gear. And the majority of the power gains don't come from the .2L increase in the engine, it mostly came from the redesigned headers. Many people swap NA2 headers onto NA1's and pick up 10 - 15hp.

The advantage of the NA1's is the lighter weight, stiffer chassis, and a ECU that can actually be tuned... oh yeah, and cost. Tranny's the drawback.

How?

5th gear @ 20mph?

Averaged 31.6 mpg coming back from michigan the very first day I bought. I couldn't believe it either.

There slower and older.

Whats the advantages of the NA-1 Besides being cheaper and 150lbs lighter.

Were talking stock here.

The NA1's were 1991 - 1996 and were 270hp 5 speeds. The 95 and 96's had Targa as an option (which added a bit of weight)

The NA2's 1997-2005 had the 290hp 6 speeds. The "facelift" occurred in 2002 and added about 6 mph top speed. All NA2's are targa's except the Zanardi edition which is the highest performance NSX you get in America)

bahhh the NA-2's weigh more than NA-1's I hate when they do that.

My cousin has an Ap2.

So the reason i care about this secpulation is im trying to help him make his decision.

He is trying to decided between keeping his AP2 and building it up. F/I and suspension blah blah. Basically flushing money down the toilet in terms of return investment.

OR.

Buying a NA 2 NSX. 50k-60k range.

OR> now this was my idea.

Buying a 08 Lotus Exige S240.

We've talked about it a ton and i thought he was pretty much decided on the NA-2.

But after this news the debate is back.

What do you guys think?

The NA2's are heavier because ALL US NA2's (except Zanardi's) are Targa-tops. The weight's carried low. You can't tell driving, really. Also, with the 6 speed... it IS faster.

I'm pretty sure this is false & they will get into the 150 range. Anyhow, from what I've heard (not personal experience) NA1 & AP2 are fairly similar in straightline acceleration. NA2 decimates AP2.

+1

The NA2 NSX's really pick up their speed from the extra gear in the tranny. The 20 extra hp doesn't make THAT much of a difference considering they weigh 150 lbs more.
