Riding in Marks NSX, I have to say I have never been more comfortable in a car around a corner than in that car. It is simply amazing.

Well, NSX's are truely awesome around a turn, but mine doesn't have ANY stock parts left in the suspension except the control arms. Makes a big difference...

Now to get some tires....

155 is the what the car will reach unrestricted. Then it became a matter of the conv. top holding it back. (I searched the S2000 forums for this one...)

Also, I very rarely ever go "full on it". My tires have been crap since the day I bought it and "full on it" will break them loose and trip the TCS in 1st, or around turns in any gear under 4th.

Really though, under 60 mph, there's not a lot of difference any way you look at it. It's when you get into the triple digits does the NSX really pull away.

But, under 60 from roll on's, it's not really fare to compare, the NSX does 80 in 2nd... not great gearing for only 270hp. Heck, Sztinky's 3G GT would stay close under 60...

I doubt it. Really depends on the indiviual cars and drivers though. NSX's aren't renowned for thier torque, but the S2000 is much worse. Also, if you're talking about an AP1 S2000 vs. an NA1 NSX (like mine) maybe it'd be close, but I'm pretty sure an NA2 NSX (like Dan's and Dave's red one) would take it.

Don't get me wrong, if I had a 8 car garage, there'd be an S2000 in 1 bay for sure.

NSX NA1:

0-60: 5.3 sec
1/4 mile: 13.6

NSX NA2:
0-60: 4.8 sec
1/4 mile: 13.2

2003 S200 AP1:
0-60: 6.3 sec
1/4 mile: 14.90

2004 S200 AP2:
0-60: 5.4
1/4 mile: 14.1

AP1 & AP2 S2000 will reach 155mph top Speed.

NA1 NSX will top out at Between 168 mph (NA1) and 175mph (NA2 "facelift")

BP sucks. I've had the same issue. I don't know what they put in their gas.

I'm never putting BP gas in my car ever again.

I attribute my flame pops to my suspected rich jets. The plugs suggest that and the pops confirm. With no cats, pretty open mufflers and short pipes as with most rear/ mid engine cars, that is unburned fuel making it to daylight. I'm a bit surprised to hear that some of your injected cars do it too, even with sophisticated engine management systems.
My tailpipes are long enough they are not at risk of scortching anything, just need to work on my tune some I think.

Let's see... wicked sound followed by fire-pops... I'd say your tune is just about right!

I think the reason Dan is so concerned(sp? yeah yeah, i dont know how to spell some words) is because of the angle/length of the pipes.

My concern is the fact that the NSX exhaust exits under the rear plastic bumper. I'm planning on getting a GT-one V5.1 exhaust and headers installed some time and they are pretty tucked in there as well.

I guess the big question remains... why does Bill's car flame like that? Is it the lack of Cats/Conv.? My ol' fiero race car would flame pretty big out the back, but it was just straight pipes from the turbos... That and fiero's have a tendency to emit flames...

I'm serious. Do exhaust flames damage the back of the car any?

Bill's looked like a pretty quick pop, but my racebike would hold a steady flame sometimes when I got off the throttle...

Dan mentioned something about Diablo's cooking their bumpers from flames out the exhaust. I'd really hate to do the same, but I also really don't want Cat/Conv's either...

Jason, any issues after this weekend's Fire-breathing might asian pornstar mouse?
