For Raza, DC33 and others, this seems right up your alley:

Yesterday I was parked at McDonalds eating inside with one of my co-workers. The youth who works the drive through comes up and the following converstion ensues:

kid: Is that your Ferrari parked out there?
me: No, I only drive a Honda and an Infiniti.
kid: Whatever, I know that's your Ferrari. A guy with a red corvette pulled up at the window and I told him that normally his car would be the coolest car I would see all day, but there is a Ferrari right over there. The corvette owner looks at it and says "If I had the new Z corvette, it would take the Ferrari." I told the corvette guy there is no way you could take the Ferrari.
me: That is true - nothing can beat a Ferrari. I assure my car is a HONDA. If you look in the back of it there is a big engine that says HONDA on it.
kid: Yeah right, nice try. Cool car.

The funny thing is the vette guy and the kid had no idea it was not a Ferrari despite the fact the car was about ten feet away from the drive through.
BTW - THERE IS NO CAR FASTER THAN A FERRARI

Funny story. There are people who actually believe that all Ferraris built are road tested and if they don't run 200 Enzo won't put his seal of approval on it and it gets scrapped.

Corvette myth...sometimes when I have the 59 out people say things like, "back when they were steel, before they started building them out of fiberglass"

Dan, the hose that popped on the TR looked awfully similar to the one Brian harvested off an old 308 (or was it a 355?) to transplant into your Diablo. How long until it has an aneurysm?

LOL

Please let it be a 308 that saved the Diablo, I can get some mileage out of this.

Black is a great color for TR's.

As far as sitting, the fluids and seals don't know they are in a Ferrari. I hear that all the time. If you were looking at an old Charger or something with no miles everyone would be jumping on it. The difference of course is cost of parts and the high labor rates, but for someone like Adam in Ky who would just rip the engine out anyway as a DIY project to make sure all is in top notch condition you might as well start with the lower mile example.

This thread has inspired me to make my garage presentable. I filled up a dumpster Saturday with stuff I might use "someday" just to get to a starting point. It took two of us 8 hrs with the dumpster in the driveway. I took no before pics because I do have some self respect.

So not true...This year at Turkey Run when the guy was looking at ricky Bobby's Lambo and said he had seen lots of Ferraris before...and the line up was all Z's...that takes the cake. LOL!

Were you all dressed like your cars? Sometimes that tricks people into thinking you're driving a Ferrari.

Sure are some nice shop and lobby floors.

At Litton's Lucas Oil shop did you see the muscle car collection or just the race side?

I love the McLaren!

Peter Revson's McLaren and Mark Donahue's Sunoco Penske were my two favorite Indy cars as a kid. Closely followed by Bobby Unser's Olsonite Eagle. I built all those models. Did not care for the Johnny Lightning cars (Al Unser), even at 12 I felt they were too "gimmicky". I did have the Hot Wheels version though.

Thanks for the vintage shots, I alway love those.

Who's black Maserati is that?
Also, what all shops did you visit?

Obviously I missed it all, the car is in the air with all the fluids out of it, I kind of ran out of time!

Also, do us a favor and back that car into the sunlight for some better pics with the new shoes. Shadows/darkness are killing that picture. We need a side shot with the new wheels.
