NOS is for ricers aqnd pussys

Ummmm, no.
Nitrous is for rAcers, mostly drag. RIcers have stolen it and are building a culture around it with those stupid movies. Drag racers were building motors around nitrous use before Honda even built the first Civic.

And it won't blow up your motor any more than other power enhancing goodies. In fact, 100 hp with N2O is easier on a motor than adding 100 hp with radical cam, compression, etc... The problem most guys run into is insufficient fuel supply, then the kit goes lean and melts stuff, because you just dumped extra oxygen (the O part) into your cylinders and need the extra fuel to keep the mixture correct.

You wont really use it on lapping days and such, but it is great fun when playing around. A 125 hp set up on a 350 Chevy will last about 10 full 1/4 mile passes, so in the 120 second range before the bottle is empty. Some guys only launch with it, some only in high gear. Some however, with good traction and stout motors add stages all down the track. Fun, but expensive!

BMW 135i in forum Showroom
Great looking car Palmer. We've had a ton of BMWs, love them. My Niece just bought her 2nd Bimmer, a late model 528i. Have you had a chance to ride or drive yet?

Nitrous Oxide in my opinion is a legitimate power adder. Even cam science has developed around the principals of the gas. If you've never played with it you are missing out on a real good time.

My mission in life however, is to ban the use of NOS as the generically used lingo for nitrous oxide. Mike Thermos founded Nitrous Oxide Systems in the late 70's/ early 80's and did a great job of promoting his company, but we were kicking butt with other engineered systems at the time. His plates froze up, and had a few other issues. I know they have developed well over the years, but those early years slugging it out with them at trade shows left a bad taste with me.
So call it N2O, Nitrous, etc but NOT NOS, unless you specifically mean their system.

Rant over.

No disrespect to poster above, but what if you CAN build and tune, and still elect to add nitrous to a great runner? Cheating?
Especially with cars we need to drive around on 5 dollar gas. You can make it so radical its making 500 hp but is no fun to drive, or make it something you car run errands in, then go like heck when you want it too. It's not everyone bag, but it has a place in hot rodding.

What ever you do, I guarantee hitting the button on a nitrous car will make you smile over and over.

Saturday at Artomobilia I had one, "Is this a kit car?" from a tatooed teen chick, and TWO "Is this a Mustang?"s from middle age women with kids. Guess it was the little horsey that threw them.

No, if you buy from a private party in your state, you do not NEED a police officer vin check and related form for the BMV.
The seller should have the title, they need to fill in the seller lines and odo reading and the selling price. They need to do the names and exactlly as is printed on the title. (EG some are in two names)

Don't forget you will pay the state sales tax due on the purchase price when you go to the BMV with the title to transfer it to your name.

If the seller has a loan balance due on the car, a bank will have the title. Try to go to the bank with the seller and close the deal there. In addition to the above title info, the bank will sign the title in a section for Lien Release, then your good to go.

Don't pay a guy who says he has to find the title and mail it to you or any similar games, but if he or the bank has possession of it in the proper names you'll be fine.

Another game you'll see is a guy who says he's selling for a friend. The title will be in someone elses name but he will have it. What is going on there is that he bought it, and to cheat on sales tax, never transfered it to his name. The title is still in the PO's name and the guy is just flipping it.

That is concours clean compared to Rocky's 456 that was at Artomobilia. He drives it about every day and showed up with mud in the wheel wells, looked a lot like Casey's Subi.
