from Bill:

You should be able to SC any car for a fraction of those numbers. Your Lambo should be able to SC for under 10k with some creativity and fabrication. Some computer controls for fuel and spark are going to need hi tech help. The rest is simple.

my main consern would be reliability. I know you could do it cheaper, Im sure limey would want to recoup the R&D money and make a nice lil profit from all the "rich" Lamborghini owners

and webby, what wrong with the pedo bear? its funny, and if you take it away the people that think Im a self rightous uppity holier than though dick wont see me making fun of myself in one of the most derogatory ways and it will just serve to feed fuel to their beliefs and envy. Beside, you saw my pedo van, it ROCKS!!!

Oh, you want reliability too? That's where the 50K comes in....

I don't know why you can't buy a kit for a $3000 Camaro 6psi Vortech kit or something close to your displacement and start building brackets and pipe.

Looking at some engine pictures, there is room for two little superchargers behind each head, each serving one bank, and maybe room for one large enough to feed an air box that both banks draw from. That would be cheapest and the least complex probably. A centrifugal unit takes less power to spin than a roots type, that would reduce the possibility of belt slippage. One large unit may be less responsive that two small, but that is likely a small difference in real world driving.
Some blowers have built in oil reserves so you do not need to run engine oil thru them to lube (which also adds heat). Powerdyne and Vortech are the brands to look at in that category. Talk to the guys there to pick a model based on displacement, rpm of engine and blower and boost. Start low like 6 psi. Talk to Brian Stewart about fabricating mounts, installing pulleys and running ducting, and finding a shop who can reprogram your ECU fuel and spark curves. Brian worked for race teams during the turbo era and this might be right up his alley. Also ZUL8TR is all over the boost control hardware and knows what is avail to keep things cool and under control. If you want to fund this, the resources are right here.
Powerdyne, like on my car (6,9,12 psi units avail) makes a unit sized for 6.0 litre GMC trucks (how convenient) we need to talk to them about using that here. The blower is about $2000. If you pay Brian $100/hr for 3 weeks of full time work on your car alone that's another $12,000. $3000 for pulleys, bracket aluminum, air box material and ducting and you are rolling. Oops, forgot $500 for the ECU work, and something to ramp up the fuel pressure with rpm or boost if the ecu can't. (Voltage increase to the elect pump maybe??)

Everyone seems to cliam 50 percent inmcreases with this type of setup, so a 500 hp engine becomes 750. Your motor should handle that without much problem as its already full of hi-tech hardware and forgings. Don't know about the clutch, but I know serious clutches are made for that car.

I know limeys is a twin SC and he said hes around 700+ with ther 2-3lbs of boost and 800 with 4-5
I dont think he had to reflash the ECU though

I dont know if I want to get into tuning it though, that takes time and money, thats why Im waiting to see what limey does and charge. I might be better off just buying a bolt on and ready to go unit. Maybe, idk, we shall see.

either way, Ill have a Veyron killer for a 1/6 of the cost
1/4 in 10.6

The other thing is...would the stock Diablo transmission be able to handle another 250hp?

its not like Ill be doing 6000 rpm clutch drops, burn outs, or doughnuts

I'd be concerned about the 1/2 shafts, and syncro's. Diablo's go through clutches rather quickly regardless.

I'd give Jason Heffner a call, and just talk about his options, and opinions; regardless of if you would do business with him or not. Nobody knows more about making a boosted Lambo work like he does. He'd also know what might need/ not need reinforcing when so much more power is made.

the syncros arent the best, Id imagine the half shafts arent either, but the clutch is strong and has lasted a few guys into the 35k mile range!!! The problem with then seems to be abuse or multiple owners that drive differently and causing it to wear unevenly and thus faster, BUT with all that power slippage may still occur.

so far limeys been trouble free, so we shall see
