Sorry for the semi hijack. I think it's cool you still have the car you drove in High School. And it's cool you had a Vette in high school.

I agree
were you a pimp in HS, or were those the few years when nobody really cared about Vettes at first?

I was the guy with a Hot Rod magazine rolled up and stuck in my back pocket, hardly a pimp.
Greasy fingernails pretty much full time, and my parts runner/daily driver was a 67 Camaro that I painted myself, or Mom's Caprice. One girlfriend's Dad saw me driving the Camaro and grounded her from riding with me.

Many of the car guys from my class were there, it was pretty fun and we talked about getting together more often.

Thanks. It started as a semi-running rolling basket that needed a lot of work, but by senior year won the school car show. I was pres of the auto club and founded the student show, and I think it is still going each year. We should crash it next spring. We used to invite special non student cars from the area for display. The shop teacher had a friend with a twin turbo Pantera that came and was quite a sight.

Had my 30th HS reunion this weekend, so I drove the Vette I drove in school, AND found the actual plate I had on it when I graduated. That brough back many memories of good times.

And yes, I am really getting old...

Looks like the replacement to the 430 will be a leaner, more Enzo like model. Giant side scoops possibly dissapearing or getting smaller.

Nice pictures. I've always wanted to see that. Maybe someday.

Detroit this coming weekend. Evansville in August.

In the mean time, enjoy this ABRA promo video:

Unlimited Hydroplanes, some of the most awesome machines in the world. 3000 hp turbines, 200+ mph speeds.

There is still one old school piston powered boat on the circuit, the #U-3 Cooper Racing boat from Posey County Indiana. It runs a twin turbo Allison V-12. Here's a few shots from the July 4th weekend.

Miss Madison finished 3rd in the finals. She is the Oh Boy Oberto boat. Defending national champ, wearing #U-1 this season.

The yellow #U-37 Pizza boat blew over on Saturday while leading a heat race. Driver stable in Louisville hospital.

That is one of the things that makes the old Vette and MG satisfying to drive fast. You kind of become part of the vehicle.

What is the pink car on page 7 of the Gallery photos?

Also, when can we expect our first forum member from London?

Rick,
Since I last heard anything about the car, you had a track day event.

Did the trans do ok at that?
