Had to remove a crappy aftermarket security system from mine last year. Didn't know it even had one till the car sat for a week then was completely drained of battery life.

NOS is really a drag racing application. I was at Automotive Specilaties yesterday while they we dynoing a drag car. 477 CI aftermarket motor in a Firebird, tubed out full drag slicks roll cage etc. 8.5 second car.

It made 485 rear wheel HP off the NOS and 850 when sprayed. They emptied a NOS bottle in 4 shots on the Dyno.(they had 8 bottles with them) and a big tank to refill them in their car hauler.

NOS is for drag cars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! do the head, cam, header, thing and you have power all the time.... The American mentality is drag,,, I am a road racer, Putnam park kind of guy and NOS has no use there... Floor It,,, especiall with size 15s

The head, cam, header thing would add about 50 hp total. Cost would be close to $11,000. On a small shot of nitrous I would get the same hp for $600. The Honda engine did not leave much room for improvement. It is nothing like the Supra setup unfortunately.

Since NOS can not be used at the track this would just be for my private enjoyment of going from 0 - ~ much faster. A 100 shot of nitrous would bring me up to 390 hp. Currently the car is right at 290 with the high flow intake and exhaust. The stage 2 clutch is a great racing/streetable clutch. The NSX can easily handle up to 390 hp without need of an engine build. Since I will be using the boost in a straight line I will not need new sway bars or suspension. All the stock internals should be fine.
AND yes I will still get a BBTB and Cantrel Headers. Great for the response, and the sound is AWESOME. I don't think there is a better sound than BBTB, headers, exhaust. I would no longer need a stereo when I have that to listen to.

I view NOS as the "Sony" of nitrous applications. They are proven and effective. How difficult is it to install a NOS brand system that will give 100 shot?

I have always been adamant about keeping the car totally NA. I was showing my gf the new headers, big bore throttle body, and intake scoop that I plan on getting this Fall. It will net almost 30+ hp - total price = $2000.
She says "why not get nitrous? how much does that cost?" I told her it's around $600. She asked if it gives as much hp as the $2000 setup. I said it actually gives about 70 extra hp. She tells me I am an idiot for even thinking of spending 3 times as much for less hp.
I knda feel like I'm cheating by spraying my car, but more hp is more hp
Curious as to everyone's thoughts.

BMW 135i in forum Showroom
That blue is amazing. Wax - lots of waxing will be needed. Do they come with Starshield or something similar?

I happen to like my fart pipe.
Your fart pipe is one of the biggest and best I have ever seen. It sounds great as gas is expelled through it. They must have been jealous.

it sounds like it would be pretty on the nsx. Also it sounds like you've made some modifications. I'd love to see it.

Also, what color is the kids NSX who got kicked off Ferrarichat after he came down for one our drives?
Thank you Coco-bun and OFL. Green is indeed the way to go. Once LotusUSA sells me his green Exige my life will be complete!
As far as mods, I never leave a car stock. I love body kits, tires, painted calipers, air/exhaust systems, and updating paint/interior every few years. Personalization is key for me. ALL manufacurers cut corners when producing cars. I like to see those corners rounded out to suit my taste.

I love Lotus. I came within inches of buying an Elise three years ago before I bought the NSX. The Exige is my favorite car for the $. Nothing is more exciting to look at or drive. The Z06 feels like a boat compared to pure racing ability of the Exige. You have great taaste in cars OFL.

No, it is dark green. The guy with the blue one used to live close to me in the River Road / Prospect area. I believe that most of the NSX in Louisville are in that area.

I saw you on the Snyder last week heading East torwards I-64. I was in the other lane heading up to Indianapolis to meet with some Midwestscc people.
Your car definately stands out even though it is black. Nice ride.

Yesterday I was parked at McDonalds eating inside with one of my co-workers. The youth who works the drive through comes up and the following converstion ensues:

kid: Is that your Ferrari parked out there?
me: No, I only drive a Honda and an Infiniti.
kid: Whatever, I know that's your Ferrari. A guy with a red corvette pulled up at the window and I told him that normally his car would be the coolest car I would see all day, but there is a Ferrari right over there. The corvette owner looks at it and says "If I had the new Z corvette, it would take the Ferrari." I told the corvette guy there is no way you could take the Ferrari.
me: That is true - nothing can beat a Ferrari. I assure my car is a HONDA. If you look in the back of it there is a big engine that says HONDA on it.
kid: Yeah right, nice try. Cool car.

The funny thing is the vette guy and the kid had no idea it was not a Ferrari despite the fact the car was about ten feet away from the drive through.
BTW - THERE IS NO CAR FASTER THAN A FERRARI
